Live Music versus Soundtracks

Our modern world has brought to our life great technological achievements, which have created “second” world within the natural environment. And this world seems to have created big opportunities for people, but as somebody fairly noticed – everything has two sides. New Information Technologies have contributed to people by making it possible to listen to music of prominent singers and musicians, watch different picturesque sites of our planet, and so on lying on the sofa before TV, but, on the other hand, people became less interested in making their own observations and experiencing wonderful feelings of personal vision. I think that listening to soundtracks instead of live music can be compared with watching Discovery channel instead of experiencing everything by oyurself. Of course, we don’t have to reject our advanced technologies, they have made many impossible things possible, but we also shouldn’t forget about our initial senses and spiritual content, which start to fluctuate under energy and beauty of real, live music. This is my attitude :-)

When I attended the concert of Dima Bilan, I was pleasantly surprised by discovering his beautiful voice and strong energy and charisma he had. It was so exciting and emotional that I thought I knew him very closely and understood everything he put in his songs. At that moment I thought that really people have some energetic level, which connects them. And such strong feelings and energy Bilan communicated to the audience have stimulated the same feedback from people. I think, live music is great, because it is always sincere and challenging to people’s feelings and thoughts.

  1. yeah, Natalie! Thank’s for starting very actual problem of our Showbusiness. I agree with you, There is nothing better than to hear live music. But, our musicians have some obstacles to that. Firstly, it is lack of professional music equipment in our country, thats why organizers of concerts ask musicians to peform with (+)soundtrack. As they said, with live peformance it will be music of bad quality on TV or radio. Secondly, musicians adicted to peform with phonogram. It easy to peform without any effort. Moreover, for our audience it is difficult to diferentiate phonogram from live music. Some musicians even don’t learn words of song relying on phonogram. But, I hope in the future we can hear live music not only in competions but also on all concerts and TV programs.

  2. Murager, Hi!!! :-) I’m very glad to see a response on this actual theme, and i found your complaints very sensable, because i’m also a supporter of live music. You know, i’ve heard that nowadays singers started use a mixed phonogram: that is when a singer sings a part by himself and some places are being replaced by phonogram. And i, actually, think that it’s not so bad, because freom my own experience (i’m attending vocal classes myself) i know that it is a pretty hard thing to sing with your own voice for a long time, and especially on the concerts! You can imagine what a big deal is to conduct a concert, and from my opinion, people today won’t be satisfied by a singer that stands in the center of the scene all the time and just sings… they want SHOW – popular songs, dances, fireworks, their lovely “star” ))) and all this stuff. But of course i agree that sometimes phonogram is the only thing that a performer has to offer, and that doesn’t makes me happy :-) I hope, you haven’t slept yet… )
